You see a Girl, and say "I wanna be like that"

Take on Body size in Indian Society
Who defined the existential "normal" body size? What does a woman's body size mean when growing up in an Indian society and family that had opinions on clothing size, not because of what is healthy, but because how the body appears to the outer world?
Indian societies have since long been influenced by media, Bollywood, and questioned the many portrayals of Indian women on the silver screen for showing "too much," or wearing "too little." As time moves on, does the Indian society actually progress? Are Indian women encouraged to be that hourglass figure or can they define their own size and pick the clothes that they are most comfortable with?
Is weight just a number? Or does that make it more the reason for women to watch that extra calorie in their cookies? Is social media making it harder for women to show off their cellulite or easier to hide their rolls by sticking their stomach in? When can we accept that beauty comes in all sizes?
University of Michigan international (non-resident Indian) junior - Nithya Ramesh, and I break it down.
